Robert F. Edmonds
April 18, 1951 – June 2, 2025
Robert “Bob” Edmonds, age 74, peacefully passed away on June 2, 2025. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on April 18, 1951, the son of the late Robert and Mary Edmonds.
Bob was a graduate of Omaha North High School, class of 1969. His college studies included time at Rangely College in Colorado before he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. On March 31, 1973, Bob married his beloved wife, Lucy, with whom he recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.
Bob will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. He held a deep passion for the sport of wrestling and was equally dedicated to his family. Bob was a highly respected presence within the wrestling community, having spent countless hours coaching and leading fundraising efforts. He himself wrestled during his time at both North High and Rangely College, and he generously shared his wrestling skills and knowledge through many years of volunteer youth coaching. He truly embodied the spirit of a champion, not just through his connection to the sport, but also as a father who consistently encouraged his children to pursue their aspirations.
In addition to his passion for wrestling, Bob had a long and dedicated career, working for the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years. During his tenure, he also took on the important role of Union representative. He retired from the railroad in 2019. Bob consistently made time for his family and hobbies. He enjoyed playing softball and was always a familiar and enthusiastic face in the stands, cheering on his children and grandchildren at their sporting events and various other activities.
He was preceded in death by his son, Nick Edmonds; parents, Robert and Mary Edmonds; mother-in-law, Lena Martinez.
Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lucy; children: Natalie Manzitto (Frank), Bobby Edmonds (Brittany), Alex Edmonds, and Austin Edmonds. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Enzo and Suby Manzitto, and Nolan and Gavin Edmonds.
