Robert was born and raised in Council Bluffs, IA and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School.  Robert worked many years in the South Omaha Meat Packing Industry. and then as a custodial engineer at Omaha South High and Pawnee Elementary Schools, where he loved, and was loved by, the staff and students.

Robert chauffeured his family in the family Suburban on vacations across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, creating cherished memories.  He enjoyed his bowling and golfing league years with sons and good friends.  Robert loved attending baseball games and especially enjoyed the infamous Nunez’s tailgates for the College World Series.

For Robert as patriarch and the whole Nunez family welcoming us to the infamous Nunez Family Tailgates, first at Rosenblatt in 2002, then later at TD Ameritrade, many of us out-of-staters are grateful. Robert was a wonderful man, and a joy to know. We will miss him too. Love to the whole family.

Robert welcomed us southern visitors to the tailgate at Rosenblatt in 2002 as if we were family. As we made the trip annually through 2019, Robert continued to treat us as family. And when COVID derailed the CWS in 2020, Robert and Jackie got on a zoom call to wish us well. I cannot say enough about Robert, Jackie and the entire Nunez family as we truly feel like a part of the family. We miss him already! Take care and love to the entire family. Jim

I first met Robert and Jackie when they came to Las Vegas for the wedding of his granddaughter to our son, and I felt the love with them very quickly. I am so very sad to see him go, his graciousness in his life was such a gift. He will be truly missed.

John and I met nearly 20 years ago, shortly after 9/11, when we were assigned to fly Federal Air Marshal missions together. I learned early on that family was very important to John. After having met Robert and Jackie at a Blues game and the rest of the family at the CWS, I quickly understood why family was so important to him. They immediately made me feel like family and that came from the top on down. I got close to Robert and Jackie the past couple of years helping to prep and drive the suburban for trips to/from the CWS site. I don’t remember ever seeing Robert without a grin on his face, no matter the situation. This is exactly how I will always remember Robert and it will always bring a grin to my face when I think of him. God Bless Robert and all the Nunez family.

I am very sorry to hear about Robert’s passing. In my 6 years working for the Storm Chasers, it was a highlight of my night to see Robert and Jackie walking through the concourse with the biggest smiles on their faces. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Nunez family at this time.

Bobby Nunez was one of the best guys I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. His easy going mannerisms, his subtle sense of humor, his coolness if any adversities during his golf game and the general friendliness with everyone he ever met is what placed him in the category of “the best”. Bobby still holds the all time low team net score in the Tuesday Tee Thumpers golf program. Play great on Heavens courses with your pal Leon, Bobby!

He was such a great and kind man. He will be missed dearly! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!

John, Jackie, Robert, James, and Family,

I will miss my friend,Bob, as will his many, many ,many other friends. He was always happy wherever he was. I have numerous memories of Bob’s antics, but will remember him best as a great customer and friend from Rosenblatt Stadium starting in 1990! I’ll miss him, but trust he’s playing with the angels now

    Stan “the Beerman”.

I was very much saddened to hear of the passing of my long-time friend, Bob. I’ve known him for 30 years, and in that time he was always the most jovial and gracious gentleman I knew. From our first meeting when I worked at Rosenblatt, Bob and Jackie were always the “salt of the earth”. Just great people! I’ll miss Bob, while always cherishing our good memories. May he Rest In Peace.

    As Bob always called me,

    “Stan the Beerman”.
