BILLINGS, Robert L. Bob, May 3, 1935 Mar 9, 2011. Robert L. Billings was born in Red Oak, Iowa and transferred to Omaha, Neb. in 1961. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Billings; mother, Pearl Levine; brother, LaVon Billings. Survived by wife, Colleen (Bateman) Billings; sister-in-law, Shirley Billings; brother-in-law, Joe Bateman (Sherrie); nephew, Scott Billings (Molly, Nicholas, Elizabeth and William Robert); nephew, Jeff Bateman (Igor Goldin); niece, Kristi Bateman Moore (Dan); loving puppy, Mister Husker; extended family members and many friends. Retired as VP from Wells Fargo; former council member at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church; past governor of Nebr. Optimist; advocated for legislation for higher education for UNL; treasurer for University of Neb. Hall of Fame (inducted in 1990); board member for Big Red Breakfast; member of the following athletic clubs at UNL: Chancellors, Presidents, Directors, Power Club and Rebounders as well as officiated football for many years. He was a NU football fanatic!
