Robert L. Billings

BILLINGS, Robert L. “Bob,” May 3, 1935 – Mar 9, 2011. Robert L. Billings was born in Red Oak, Iowa and transferred to Omaha, Neb. in 1961. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Billings; mother, Pearl Levine; brother, LaVon Billings. Survived by wife, Colleen (Bateman) Billings; sister-in-law, Shirley Billings; brother-in-law, Joe Bateman (Sherrie); nephew, Scott Billings (Molly, Nicholas, Elizabeth and William Robert); nephew, Jeff Bateman (Igor Goldin); niece, Kristi Bateman Moore (Dan); loving puppy, Mister Husker; extended family members and many friends. Retired as VP from Wells Fargo; former council member at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church; past governor of Nebr. Optimist; advocated for legislation for higher education for UNL; treasurer for University of Neb. Hall of Fame (inducted in 1990); board member for Big Red Breakfast; member of the following athletic clubs at UNL: Chancellor’s, President’s, Director’s, Power Club and Rebounder’s as well as officiated football for many years. He was a NU football fanatic! MEMORIAL SERVICE Wednesday, 3/16/11, 11am at Lutheran Church of the Master, 2617 S. 114 St. Memorials are suggested to University of Nebraska Foundation, Lutheran Church of the Master, or Optimist International.
