Robert L. “Bob” Egermayer
July 6, 1952 – May 20, 2019
Born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 6, 1952 to George and Margaret “Peg” Egermayer. He loved his family, his community, and his faith.
Bob spent much of his professional life bringing joy to others, especially families. For the first twenty years of his career, he opened and operated four family amusement parks in Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota. The Ranch Amusement Parks featured some of the best Go-Kart tracks in the Midwest, all of which Bob personally designed. While he believed in fair play, he did allow his daughter’s cart to be tuned up a bit so she could go a little faster than the other children. His love for bringing children happiness was also exemplified in his service to Make-A-Wish of Nebraska, on whose Board he served. The second two decades of his career were spent operating Fun Services, a corporate events company in Omaha.
An avid fan of Creighton Basketball, Bob served on the Board of the Jay-Backers. This was a passion he shared with his two sons. Vacations were often spent headed to whatever city Creighton happened to be playing in.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, George W. Egermayer, Sr.; mother, Margaret “Peg” Egermayer; and brother, G. W. “Woody” Egermayer, Jr. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Julie Egermayer and Ari Rabin-Havt; sons, Matt and Scott Egermayer; sisters and brother-in-law, Susie and Jeff Zindel, Judy and Ian Mattoch; sister-in-law, Jean Egermayer; former wife, Jan Egermayer; and his four-legged partner in crime, Stu.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 28th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel, followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Wednesday, May 29th at 10am at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 11802 Pacific. Memorials are suggested to Make-A-Wish of Nebraska or Learning for ALL.

We were sorry to learn Bob passed away — he was certainly a great guy, and will be missed! Thinking of everyone in the family during this sad time.
I got to know Bob years ago when I worked at Julio’s… He was a good friend of Rick Fox and many others… Bob was always a gentleman, warm, kind and fun. I am so saddened and sorry for your loss, please accept my very heartfelt condolence.
Sincerest sympathy to all of Bob’s family! Reading his life story reminded me of his days at Crestridge School when I was his 6th grade teacher ! He was always happy and fun loving! He was a joy to have in the classroom. Other students really liked him. Bob served on the Safety Patrol. He and his parents enjoyed hosting the patrol at the year end pool party at their homeI have fond memories of Bob!
Sincerely
