GABELHAUSE, Robert L., Mar 14, 1925 Oct 11, 2011. Survived by daughters, Leslie Janssen (Monte) and Lynne Giddings (John); son, Roger Gabelhause (Julie), daughter-in-law (Phyllis); sisters: Sylvia Hanner, Flora Sheldon (Harold), Geraldine LaChappel (Chuck); eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, his son Robert Gabelhause Jr., his parents John and Pauline Gabelhause, brothers Victor Gabelhouse, and Wesley Gabelhaus, and grandsons Bobby Gabelhause and Colin Janssen. Robert was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. He served his country during WWII as a quartermaster for the Navy in the Pacific Theater. Upon his return from the war, he married Bonnie Larsen and the couple lived in Omaha for the rest of their lives. Robert was a top notch tire salesman for Sears for thirty-five years. Bob was a member of the South Omaha Eagles and was involved in two different camping clubs. Bob was an avid Husker fan and loved to accompany the playing of the school song with his spoons. VISITATION begins Thursday, 3pm, with family receiving friends 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel. SERVICES Friday, 10am, West Center Chapel. Interment, Westlawn with full military honors by Millard American Legion Post 374 and VFW Post 8334. Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Gretna, NE.
