Robert Lee Rhine “Bob”

Robert Lee Rhine – “Bob” Major USAF (Ret.) Dec 7, 1925 ~ Dec 8, 2016 Preceded in death by eldest son, Knox. Survived by wife of 71 yrs, Patty, and children, Gale Stevens (Jon) , Robert A. Rhine (Margo), and daughter-in-law, Bette Rhine, 7 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Born in Wheatridge, Colorado, he joined the Army Air Corp in 1945. He was honorably discharged as a World War II Veteran. He used the GI Bill to go to college and received his degree from Denver University. He was recalled to the service in 1950 supporting the Korean conflict. He continued his career in the Air Force, finishing at the Pentagon on the Chief of Staff’s team. Following his 20 years of service, he worked for the Census Bureau and Syar Industries before retiring again. Bob and Patty moved to Bellevue, NE in 2009. A “Celebration of Live” service will be held after the holidays. Memorials to Alzheimer’s Research or St. Columbans of Bellevue. He is to be buried next to his parents, Rex & Amy Rhine, in the Rhine Cemetery Harrisburg, Illinois. He will be missed by family, neighbors, friends and all who benefited from his generous giving.
