Robert W. Stephens

Robert W. “Catfish” Stephens entered into rest on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at his home located in Honey Creek, Iowa. Bob was born on February 16, 1946 to William and Maude (McIntosh) Stephens. He grew up on a farm in Honey Creek and continued to live in Honey Creek although he no longer farmed. “Catfish” was a graduate of Missouri Valley High School. He married Judy Parks on December 13, 1966 in Papillion, Nebraska. “Catfish” retired in 2010 after working at Crescent Ski Hills and Camp Pokamoke YMCA in Crescent. He and Judy also maintained Branson Cemetery in Loveland, Iowa. “Catfish” loved watching Husker football. Bob and Judy had 44 wonderful years together. “Catfish” as he was known by so many, will be sorely missed by everyone he touched during his life. Survivors include his wife Judy (Parks) Stephens of Honey Creek, Iowa; son, Stacy and his wife Donna of Colorado Springs, CO.; daughters Peggy Stephens who resides at home and Maggie Zaborsky and husband Marcus of Council Bluffs; brother, Donald Stephens and his wife Ruth; sister Mary Wagner; sisters-in-law Dianne Fogarty, Jean Stephens and Charlotte Stephens; two wonderful grandchildren, Clayton Robert Stephens and Ella Louise Zaborsky, whom he dearly loved. “Catfish” was preceded in death by his parents, Maude & Bill; brothers Frank “Fuzzy”, William “Buzz”, brother in law Charles Wagner and Jim Stephens; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday June 8, 2011, at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. The family would like to invite everyone to lunch and a time of fellowship at the Eagles Club in Missouri Valley following the committal service.
