Rodney “Todd Wodd” Davis
June 23, 1961 ~ May 5, 2024
Hey Y’all, how y’all doing? Save all that crying and carrying on. I just went home to be with my Lord and Savior, and I had to come build my momma another deck. For all who knew me, then you know, for the ones who don’t know. Let me tell you about me.
I’m the son of Elijah and Alberta Davis. I was born on June 23, 1961, in Lincoln NE. I accomplished many things in my life. I attended Omaha North, where I lettered in football and the best dressed “nobody can do it like me”. After graduating from high school, I enlisted in the ARMY Reserves. I was a Drill Sargent; I was honorably discharged after my term. I came back home to Omaha, NE and became a coach and mentor for the OHA football team. I worked in construction for the city of Omaha for years. I was a roofer, a builder, and a hustler. I enjoyed my family, football, cracking jokes, playing jokes, playing dominos, and talking that sh*t.
I was a long-time member of Kingdom Builders Christian Center, where I made the decision to be baptized, I was also ordained as a Deacon on June 27, 2021. I made Momma and Daddy proud with this accomplishment. Then I later joined New Rising Star Baptist Church. I worked at Craters and Freighters until I was called home. Y’all all know my sayings, help keep them alive: Kansas City bankroll, not neva, me either, give it to me quick not slick, hit yo bunk punk, who you wit! I loved God and my family.
I will be preceded in death by my Parents: Elijah and Alberta Davis. My Sister: Annie Mae Davis. My nephews: Antwain “Twain” Davis and Korvanta Hill. Uncle Rev. Emmanuel A. Johnson and Aunt Fannie Branch. I am survived by My Only Daughter: Kristin A. “Pumpkin” Turner. My Two Sons: Brandon T. Davis and Rodney T. Williams. My Sister: Andrea “Pooh” Davis. My little brother: Jeffery R. “Bodean” Johnson. My best friends, Alvin Carter and Herman Johnson. My beloved tribe of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Wake Service: Sunday, May 19, 2024, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the West Center Chapel.
Funeral Service: Monday, May 20, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at the West Center Chapel. Military Rites provided by Benson VFW Post 2503.
