Romayne T. Poeppe

February 14, 1945 – August 24, 2021

Former owner of Gavin’s Point Liquor, Rose Garden Florist, and Nuclear Imaging.

Preceded in death by parents, Lucille and Theodore; brother, Lorin; sisters, Joan Schulte and Collette Monteros.  Survived by brothers, Ray, Lee (Jo Ann), and Lynn (Mei) Poeppe; sisters, Donna Wernimont and Lois Wenzel; his partner, Vici Sortino; loving children, Jacqueline Gray (Joey), Jeff Poeppe (Jennifer), and Tim Fonfara; grandchildren: Tyler and Joel Gray, Elijah and Amalia Poeppe; loved by many nephews and nieces.

He was known to everyone as RT or Pep.  He loved fishing and hunting with family and friends.  His heart was giving and was generous with the time that he had for those close to him.  RT always had a smile for you and could bring laughter to those around him.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Monday, August 30th, 11am at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 7600 South 42nd Street.  Private Interment.   Memorials may be directed to the church.

    Got to know Romayne through his visits to Anita (brother Joe and his wife JoAnn run the Redwood here). Always found him upbeat, positive, funny and good to be around. Will miss his laugh and his smiling face. I will offer a Mass for him and keep you all in my prayers.

    Payton, Avril and I loved our weekly Covid suppers with him and Vici. We enjoyed his stories and will miss him greatly. We are so sorry for your loss.
