Preceded in death by wife, Marilyn; parents, Harry and Elsie. Survived by children: Deborah Vamosi (Jamie), David (Debbie), Denise Schmitz, Steven (Kristen), Lynn Blodgett (Dave), and Barb Mitilier (Jim); grandchildren: Brian Vamosi, Kayleigh Rensch (Aaron), Logan Vamosi, Tia Harrahill, Zac Schmitz, Samantha Schmitz, Clayton Schmitz, Logan Anderson, Casey Schmitz, Alexander Schmitz, Megan Blodgett, and Nick Mitilier; great-grandchildren: Connor Rensch, Nevaeh Morris, and Anthony Morris; brothers, Gary Schmitz (Carole) and Robert Schmitz (Margaret); sister-in-law, Carol Schade; many nieces and nephews.
For many years, Ron worked for Quaker Oats Chemical, which became QO Chemical, and then Great Lakes Chemical. Prior to that he worked for Omaha Steel. He was a Corporal, medical 
company 134th Infantry Regiment in the National Guard of Nebraska and the National Guard of the United States. He was also an airman in the United States Air Force Reserve.
MEMORIAL MASS will be on Saturday, August 12th at 11am at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 8200 N. 30th Street, with military honors at the church.
