Ronald Dale Kohler
December 29, 1935 – June 22, 2025
Born in Omaha he graduated from Benson High School in 1954. He studied engineering at the University of Omaha. He married his high school sweetheart Barbara Ann Trenerry in 1955, and they were blessed with two children. He loved his family. Attending church on Sunday and taking vacation trips in the summer were especially good times. Golf was his favorite pastime. He played in many tournaments and scored three hole-in-ones. In later years, he took up woodworking. He designed and crafted over thirty items many of which were furniture. He loved to learn and read. His favorite books were on American History.
As a Professional Engineer he lived and worked in five states and three foreign countries. After retirement, he served as Public Works Director and City Engineer for the city of Hot Springs, Arkansas until 2004.
He and his wife moved to Pacific Springs an Immanuel Community in Omaha in 2011. His wife of 58 years passed away in 2013. He found love again and married Margaret Clough. They have enjoyed life together in their senior years with travel and cultural events.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Gayle Sole (Rodney); son, Steve (Diane); granddaughters, Christina Peatrowsky, Alexandra Brown (Michael); grandson, Adam Kohler, (Julia); great- grandsons, Preston and Parker Peatrowsky; great-granddaughter, Emerson Brown; sister-in law, Jean Kohler; and many nieces and nephews; Margaret’s three sons: Marc (Pam), Michael (Arlene) and Marty (Amy).
Pre-deceased by parents, Ernest and Georgiana; brother, Alvin; first wife, Barbara.
VISITATION: Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:00AM with a CELEBRATION OF RON’S LIFE at 12:00PM at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 11810 Burke St. ( 118 & Dodge St.) Omaha, NE 68154, followed by a luncheon at the church.
PRIVATE INTERMENT: Forest Lawn Cemetery for immediate family following the Funeral Services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Luke United Methodist Church (Child Development Center) or Immanuel Community Foundation.

Steve, Diane and families of Ron and Margaret, Roby and I wish to convey our deepest sympathies to you and your families as you grieve this tremendous loss.
