Ronald H. Kuss was born on April 2, 1935 at home near Herman, Nebraska in Washington County, to Howard and Roma (Krohn) Kuss.  Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hooper, Nebraska, was the site of Ron’s baptism (April 14, 1935), confirmation (April 10, 1949), and marriage (November 18, 1956).  A 1953 graduate of Hooper High School, Ron lived on a farm until serving in the U.S. Army (October 1954 to October 1956).  He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical engineering in 1962, and a Master of Science in engineering mechanics in 1967, both at University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where he was a member of Sigma Tau Engineering Honor Society.  From 1962 to 1988, he was employed at Northern Natural Gas, InterNorth, and Enron.  He held several programming and database jobs until retiring in the late 1990s.

In his free time, Ron enjoyed working in the shop, welding and tinkering with vehicles.  Arizona was a favorite winter destination.  His hobbies included fishing, square dancing, farming, playing with his grandkids, and traveling with Vera, family, and friends.

Survived by wife, Vera; children, Pamela Gaare (Dennis) and Michael Kuss (Cheryl); grandchildren: Jason Gaare (Erin), Kyla Kuss, Lauren Gaare, Holly Duren (Butch); great-grandchild, Kendrick Gaare; sister, Loretta Legband (Darrell); stepsister, Berniece Thernes (Kenny); stepbrothers: LeRoy Kriete (Gloria), John Kriete (Donna), and Paul Kriete (Cory); nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 10th from 5pm to 7pm at Bel Air Chapel, 12100 W. Center Rd.  FUNERAL on Tuesday, July 11th at 10am Lutheran Church of the Master (East Campus), 2617 S 114th St.  Interment on Tuesday, July 11th at 1pm at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont with military honors by Fremont Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Open Door Mission or Lutheran Church of the Master.
