Ron passed away at the age of 88 years and 361 days.  He was born January 17, 1935 in Remer, MN.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Marie Stoesz; siblings: Don Dahline (Betty+), Majorie Snyder, Harry Dahline, Judie Krumheuer (Harland+); and daughter Lori Stoesz.

He is survived by his wife Linda Stoesz, brother Harvey Dahline (Liz), and children Scott Stoesz, Ronna Mynster (Mark), Troy Stoesz, Stephen Stoesz (Paige) and Kristin Pratt (Kyle).

Ron had a love for family, music, cooking, traveling, and shopping.  His love for singing was evident as he was frequently breaking out into song. Willie Nelsen was a top artist of choice.  Ron was always the chef of the kitchen.  At family events, he always provided “feedback” on how they could “enhance” their own dishes. His creativity in the kitchen gave him life, especially when it came to his signature dishes, chicken marsala and wild rice.

His career consisted of 22 years at Xerox and ~7 years at First Data Resources.  He enjoyed the opportunity to work in London, England a couple years toward the end of his career.  In retirement, he became known as ‘Captain Ron’ while running the Beaver Lake marina for 3 years.  He managed to recruit his family to help run the business as well.  In his spare time, he enjoyed shopping at wholesale stores beginning with Pace, then Sam’s and finally leading to Costco.  If he could have purchased a Kirkland branded car, he would have.

Ron will forever be remembered for his love, patience, understanding, wisdom, and amazing sense of humor.

Here’s to you Captain Ron – happy trails to you, until we meet again.

My condolences go to the family and may Ron’s soul rest in peace. I want to celebrate the great memories I have of Ron as I lived with the family for a bit and remember Ron’s guidance of car buying ! Making spaghetti dinners and taking a sauna downstairs with the cat Lizzy! Occasionally he would be on a back machine and always made me feel like part of the family when I lived there and tried to babysit Kristin and Stephen! My parents were super fond of the family and it continues to this day . I hope Ron is at peace and hanging out with my parents and he will always be there for us with the big smile and his great laugh ! That’s how I want to remember Ron. Love always from Hassina Omar and I am always here for you whenever you need me ❤️
