Ronald Lee Atteberry

August 15, 1940 – June 20, 2024

Celebration of Life: August 17, 2024, 2:00 p.m., West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Rd., Omaha, NE.

Ron was born and raised in Dixon, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Ruth Atteberry-Jeremiah; sisters, Donna Atteberry and Debbie Thies; grandson, Dustin Doege.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathleen Atteberry; daughters: Cheri (Martin) Ring, Dianna Doege, Patti Grella; grandchildren: Allie Lonergan, Kaitlin Doege, Jacob and Joshua Grella; great- grandchildren: Locklin Lonergan, Giovanni Cortez-Doege,  and River Ramos Doege; nephew, Jason Thies.

Ron was drafted in 1965 into the US Army and served 4 years in the Bugle Corps in West Virginia. He was employed at Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Chicago, IL, and retired from Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha, NE.

In his earlier years in Illinois, he enjoyed golfing and bowling, and after retirement, he enjoyed friendships and camaraderie, car cruises/shows, and lunches with his Mustang Car Club members.

His final resting place will be Omaha National Cemetery, and forever in our hearts.

    Such a good man. Life would have been so different had he not stepped to the plate and become my dad. Forever I will cherish his love and caring heart.
