Rosalie A. “Rosie” (Von Tersch) Allison aka “Dommie”
January 11, 1939 – December 22, 2020 of Omaha, NE and Islamorada, FL (age 81).
Rosie was born in Lexington, NE and moved to Omaha with her family in 1941. Rosie attended St. Bernard’s Elementary School, Cathedral High School and graduated Mercy High School in 1957. She entered St. Catherine’s School of Nursing, obtaining her Nursing diploma from there and from Creighton University in 1960. She and Ron Allison met in the summer of 1954 and he was “smitten” shortly thereafter and still is to this day. Ron and Rosie were married October 7, 1961 and celebrated 59 years of marriage this past October.
Rosie is survived by her husband, Ron and four children: Angela Allison of Rancho Cordova, CA (David Goebels); Lisa Freedom Tangeman of Vancouver, WA; Jacqueline Drey of Omaha, NE (Timothy); Leo D. Allison of Omaha, NE. 10 grandchildren: Riley and Emerson Goebels; Tyler, Kylie Rae, Bailey and Jozie Tangeman; Alison and Jacob Drey; Olivia and Andrew Allison; one great grandchild, Anastasia Rae Tangeman; sister, Marlene McArdle and brother, Bill Von Tersch.
Rosie played tennis at Happy Hollow Country Club until her later years, winning several member-guest tournaments. She routinely played Mahjong with her dear friends in Islamorada and valued that time greatly. Rosie enjoyed decorating, reading, a nice glass of Chardonnay, lunch with friends, her frog collection, the color orange and caramels. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
VISITATION observing CDC guidelines: Monday, December 28th from 9am to 10am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 654 S. 86th St., with MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL at 10am.
Interment: Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The American Cancer Society or The Pancreatic Cancer Network.
