Age 95, of Omaha, Nebraska, died with her family by her side.

 VISITATION: Tuesday, June 1st from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm.  MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Wednesday, June 2nd at 10am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 654 S. 86th Street.  Interment: Calvary Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to Christ the King Catholic Church or Nebraska Humane Society.  Complete notice later

May 24, 2021 was the day we lost a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and all-round kind-hearted person and friend.  Rosemary died surrounded by family.

Rosemary was born in Portsmouth, Iowa.  She grew up on the family farm and attended High School in Tennant, Iowa.  Rosemary attended college at Iowa State University where she met her future husband, John M. “Jack” Free.  She graduated with a degree in Home Economics Education and Jack graduated with a degree in Architectural Engineering.  After graduating, Rosemary taught for a year while Jack finished up.  They were then married and moved to Omaha, Nebraska to work and raise their eight children. 

Rosemary was a homemaker and Jack was the Senior Vice President at Leo A. Daley Architectural Engineering Company.  Besides raising her family, Rosemary liked to garden, sew, craft, read, and play her piano. 

Preceded in death by husband, Jack; oldest son, John.  Survived by children: Linda Free, Rita Free, Mary Schimonitz (Jim), Jim Free, Ruth Cozart (Ken); grandchildren: Aidan and Zane, Paul Free (Allison), Wanda Maher (Marty); grandchildren: Marie, Julie, John, and Lisa; brothers, John Buman, Joe Buman (Bonnie); sisters: Loanne Reinig (Jerry), Marita Heese (Chuck), Jeannette Pawoll, Mildred Reinig; and many other loving relatives.

VISITATION: Tuesday, June 1 from 5pm to 7pm at Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler West Center Chapel 7805 West Center Rd. VIGIL SERVICE to follow at 7pm.  MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Wednesday, June 2nd at 10am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 654 S. 86th Street. Interment: Calvary Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to Christ the King Catholic Church and/or Nebraska Humane Society
