Roxanne J. Larson

Roxanne J. Larson

 July 30, 1960 – February 3, 2025

Roxanne Larson, born on July 30, 1960, in Omaha, Nebraska, and passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, in Omaha, at the age of 64.

Roxanne was a lifelong resident of Omaha, where she built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Her devotion to helping others was never more evident then when she became a nurse 20 years ago. Her passion and care towards others made her into the caring nurse we all loved. Outside of nursing, her joy for the beach was evident.  Her favorite place to visit was Destin, Florida where she took a yearly anniversary trip in September to the warm and sandy beaches.  Destin was her happy place.

Overcoming many obstacles in life was no problem for Roxanne.  Starting her nursing career late in life was hard, but her strength and power to fight addiction and become sober for 31 years was one of her crown achievements in her life.

Lastly, she could not be more proud to be called “grandma” to her favorite people in the world, her three grandchildren. From ballgames to dance, she didn’t miss a chance to spend time and be a part of each of their lives. Being grandma was a precious joy for her.

She is survived by her spouse, Robert; and she was a devoted parent to their sons, Matt and Joey. Roxanne also welcomed Sarah into their family as a daughter-in-law, and found immense joy in being a grandparent to: Sadie, Easton, and Aleah Larson. She is also survived by her brother, Doug Cafferty, and wife, Theresa, along with sister/best friend, Cathy Larson, and husband, Dan.

Roxanne was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Ruth Cafferty, whose love and guidance shaped much of who she became.

I am so saddened to hear of Rox’s passing, your hearts must be broken. She was such a delight to work with at Methodist, and was so compassionate, sometimes with just enough sass to make everyone laugh. May your beautiful memories be of much comfort.

I am so sorry for the loss of such an important person in so many lives, she was definitely a family first person. She talked about her family a lot especially her very much loved grandchildren. Spending time with them made her so happy. She was my “work wife” before we both retired, then she became my lunch buddy and craft fair partner. Rox you will be so missed! To Bob and family my deepest sympathies and thoughts are with you.
