COLLINS-Ruth H., age 90, of Caldwell, ID, died Oct 26, 2008 at a local nursing home. Ruth was born September 16, 1918 in Sioux City, IA, to James Ernest Gonnion and Geneva Angela Hoy. She was raised and educated in Bellevue and Omaha, NE. Ruth married Willard C. McKnight in Omaha in April 1936. They divorced in March 1939. Ruth then met the love of her life, George Collins. They were married in November 1939. To them were born 4 girls and 1 son. They divorced in August 1974 in Wisconsin. Ruth moved to Barnes, WI, in 1965 and there worked as bookkeeper for Hayward Area Memorial Hospital. She retired in 1984 and moved home to Bellevue. In January 2007, Ruth moved to Idaho where she spent her last days. Ruth was a lifelong active member of the Catholic Church, serving in various capacities, including C.C.D., The Legion of Mary and Alter Societies. She was an avid gardener and determined weed puller. Ruth is preceded in death by her daughter, Edith Carol Collins; brother, James Harvey (Marjorie) Gonnion; sister, Mary Alice Gonnion; one grandson and her parents. She is survived by her remaining children, Georgia Jean Collins of WI, Irene A. Collins, ID; Karen J. Collins, and Michael J. Collins, WI. Funeral Mass 10am Thursday, October 30, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bellevue, NE. Interment Bellevue Cemetery.
