Born in Maryville, Missouri, one of the seven Conway siblings, it was clear from an early age Sally had a gentle, loving, nurturing spirit.  Her life was centered around caring for her family and animals.  She planted roots in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart alongside a graduating class that became her lifelong pals.  A devoted Catholic, Sally made intentional prayer and being a servant of Christ part of her daily life.

Whether it was journeys to Ireland or Sicily or to the various favorite destinations in the US, she lived for travel and connecting with family and friends.   Sally made everything an adventure, even the simple things like walks around the neighborhood or running errands.  Sally made life fun, beautiful, musical and joyful.  Her poems, limericks, stories and retelling of family history was engaging and memorable and live on as her legacy to those that were her best audience.  She had nicknames for all her pets and those that she loved and she was fondly referred to as Mom, Nana, Mustang Sally, Sassy Sally, Sissy, Sister and Sally O.

She leaned strongly on her religion and beliefs to see her through challenging times.  Her impeccable sense of style both in fashion and interior design has inspired and influenced so many.  Sally’s dedication to volunteering her time and immense talents over eight decades made an impact on so many organizations and people.  Her happiest moments were in her home as a gracious and generous host to all.  The creativity, comfort, humor, and delight she brought to this world is unmatched.  Her light will sparkle forever in our hearts.

This has been so difficult for me to find the words to express the broken heart and sadness for the loss of Sally. My thoughts and prayers to all of her family. and friends. She was amazing! She was so hilarious, witty, caring ,compassionate , determined, educated, knew the scoop In the hippest diva around! The list could go on and on but my memories of Sally are the best she was there for me when my mom and dad‘ passed away. . I will be forever gratefull for her friendship and love. Her trips with my mom and others when the ladies said they were playing bridge over the river. Sally would sometimes give me a heads up on how much she won at bridge. I didn’t realize you gamble when you play bridge.?!
Rest in peace Sally. Thank you for always making me smile.
