Sally J. Aparo
June 24, 1941 – May 12, 2024
Sally J. Aparo passed away on Sunday, May 12, at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy.
Sally Jean Nanson was born on June 24, 1941, in Platteville, Wisconsin, to Donald Nanson and Agnes (Francois) Nanson. She married William Canfield in 1959 in Dubuque, Iowa. They later divorced. She and her three children moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1972, where she later met and married Frank Aparo. Frank was devoted to her and made her so happy. They were together for over 45 years at her passing.
Sally loved music, books, nature, and animals; she was smart and funny and had wonderful style. Like her mother before her, she could make friends with a stranger in a minute. She overcame a difficult childhood and conquered later challenges. She was such a presence in our lives and will be greatly missed.
Sally is survived by her husband Frank, her daughter Laura (David) Canfield Bass, sons Jeffrey Canfield and Christopher (Theresa) Canfield; grandchildren Ashley Roumph, Jeffrey (Sarah) Canfield, Christopher (Michelle) Canfield and Alica (Kody) Eckert; great-grandchildren Charlotte, Timothy and William Roumph and Miller Eckert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William Nanson, sister Sue Nanson and her grandson Jason Canfield.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 19th from 2:00PM – 4:00PM at West Center Chapel.
Funeral: Monday, May 20th, 11:00AM at West Center Chapel.
Interment: Forest Lawn
Memorials may be directed to the family.
