Salvatrice Ann “Patti” Johnson

Salvatrice Ann “Patti” Johnson

August 13, 1948-October 5, 2024

“Patti” Incontro- Johnson was born in Omaha, NE. She was raised in an Italian Catholic family,Dad, Joseph Incontro, Mom, Nellie Caniglia- Incontro and younger brothers, Bob and Kenneth.  They grew up on North 77th Street. Patti was attending Westside High School when she met Larry Johnson from Benson High at the age of 15. They eloped to California at the youthful age of 17 and started a family. The couple raised three children: Tiffany, Kimberly and Jamie.

Patti worked as a unit secretary in Labor and Delivery at Bergan Mercy Hospital for 33 years and then moved to Overland Park, KS to be near son, Jamie. She worked at St. Luke’s Hospital for another 20 years, and finally retired at the age of 74.  Then, Larry and Patti moved back to the Omaha area to be close to daughter, Kimberly and family.

Patti loved to shop and would never pass up a bargain!  Family gatherings were very important to her, especially at Christmas time! It was her favorite time of year because gift giving gave her so much joy. Patti was extremely giving, nurturing, and loving, always putting others first. Her greatest accomplishment was being a Nana to 12 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

Larry and Patti have an 11-year-old fur baby named Skeeter. They just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary with a traditional Dairy Queen vanilla cone.

Patti is survived by her husband, Larry Johnson; children: Tiffany Johnson, (Jason Malchow), Kimberly Peterson (Ryan) and Jamie Johnson (Tamra); grandchildren: Dakota Zickefoose (Kelsi), Tia Byford (Brock), Emma Peterson, Logan Peterson, Baylor Peterson, Keighlan Johnson, Maleena Johnson, Brooklynn Johnson, Stella Johnson, Hadelin Johnson, Colin Malchow, Max Malchow; great- grandchildren, Lincoln Zickefoose, Lux Zickefoose, Ledger Byford.

My deepest condolences to family. I worked with Patti for 2 years before she retired from Labor and Delivery at Saint Luke’s. We hated to see her go. Patti kept us laughing constantly with her stories from home, her disappointment of Larry purchasing another “Flowbie” for his hair cuts. How proud she was of her family, her grandchildren. She shared her. recipes with me, asked for tips with hairstyles and talked about her dog, Skeeter. So many funny stories! Her life was well lived. She brought so much joy and laughter to us. Thanks for sharing her with us all.

We have been friends with Patti & Larry many years,
What a blessing it has been to have her as a friend.
I will cherish all the memories we have had together, all the hospitality, encouragement, kindness over all these years. . I know she is in a better place and “can only imagine ” what she is experiencing now. I am thankful for our long friendship, and am missing her already. We pray for Larry & the family in this hard time.

Patti and I went to Westside, our friendship goes back along ways. I enjoyed reading all the kind and fun memories about her and what a strong and giving person she was. She was all of those and more. This spring during her treatments , Patti, Dee and I had a spa day, lunch and then a little shopping, it was a great day , I shall always keep that day in my heart. Prayers to her family as they miss her loving presence today and forever.
