As I read the notice on the passing of Sam, I thought what a wonderful life he had, but at the same time, I was equally saddened by his passing. As a child and later as an adult, you never think that day will come when a parent(s) is/are no longer with you. I know that age and illness take their tow over time, and we think about the limited time left, but when it happens, it still is an unbelievable hurt. I lost my dad 6 years ago, and there is never and will never be a day I don’t think about him or tell him I love him. I have no words to give comfort, but I know this much he is still with you, and always will be. He is your father and spouse, and you are part of him, and that won’t change!

May God Bless and keep you!

My prayers are with all of you as you mourn the lass of a great man. I pray for him, too, that he is resting in the loving arms of God. While you mourn his absence from this life among you, keep him present with many memories and stories. Special greetings to you, Kathy. We were in school together at Cabrini. I’m sorry I don’t live closer to be able to come to the funeral. Peace and Prayers, Sister Patricia Ann
