Born in Topeka, KS, Sandy was the only child of Edward and Juanita Fennell. Sandy grew up in the Cathedral area of Omaha and went to school at Saint Cecilia and Cathedral High School.

Sandy was focused on her family and making sure her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were taken care of. She will be remembered for putting her family first. Although she was an only child, Sandy dreamed of being a part of a big family. She married John Moran, who came from a family of 9, and went on to have 7 children, 18 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

Sandy was a devoted wife, loving mother, and caring grandmother who loved planting, shopping, hosting holiday parties and reading. She was sassy, sometimes spicy, and very loved. She treated everyone with respect and kindness. After raising her family, Sandy worked as a paraprofessional in the District 66 school system and was an active member in her community.

In her later years Sandy enjoyed playing cards and games with her new friends at Immanual Village. She loved spending time with her grandchildren going to lunch, enjoying Target trips, or simply sitting together having a conversation.

Sandy was 85 at the time of her passing and will be missed by all who knew her. Her family finds comfort knowing she has been reunited in heaven with her husband John, her daughter Laura, and her parents.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Immanuel Hospital for taking wonderful care of Sandy and to all joining us in celebrating her long, joyful life.

Preceded in death by husband, John Moran; parents, Edward and Juanita Fennell; daughter, Laura. Survived by sons: John (Jeannine), Mike (Mary), Joe (Vicki) and Tim (Christine) Moran; daughters, Theresa Moran and Mary (Dale) Huskey; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Sincerely,
The Moran Family

I’m sorry to hear about your mom. Even though I haven’t seen any of you kids since probably Mike’s wedding. I feel terrible that we as the kids didn’t stay in touch as much as our parents did. I have great memories of visiting your family and spending hours playing around the house or going down the big hill on big wheels. (what were we thinking). I grew up always stopping by to see mom and most times she was on the phone with Sandy. I unfortunately am not able to make the funeral as this is busiest season for us at FedEx. I hope someday we might be able to see each other all again. Once again I’m sorry for sandy passing.
