Sandra L. Wilberding

September 2, 1941 – June 7, 2021

Preceded in death by parents, Francis and Marie (Knott) Wilberding; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan Barry (Richard), La Eva Kolker (Don), and Sharon Hueser (Tom); her furry and feathery friends: Butch, Socks, Tommy, and Tweety.  Survived by “sisters-in-law”: Patty Barry, Dorie Feller Kolker, and Martha Hueser; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

Sandy grew up in Marcus, Iowa, and spent the majority of her life in Omaha, Nebraska.  Her short stature could be found behind a cash register or working on the floor at Goodrich Dairy, Nebraska Clothing, One Hour Martinizing, Hospe’s Mr. Music, Brandeis, Younkers, or Osco Drug.  She enjoyed country music, dancing, and doll collecting.  Sandy was also an enthusiastic volunteer for many years at Omaha’s Summer Arts Festival and an avid political volunteer for both party lines.

She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.  Our family is extremely grateful for all the TLC she received at both Immanuel Courtyard and Immanuel Fontenelle.

VISITATION: Saturday, June 19th from 6 pm to 7pm at West Center Chapel, WAKE SERVICE at 7 pm.  MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL:  Tuesday, June 22 at 11 am at Holy Name Catholic Church, 102 N. Elm Street, Marcus, IA.  Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Humane Society, Immanuel Courtyard or Immanuel Fontenelle.

Dear Barry’s. Sandy is a happy childhood memory. She tried so hard so many times to teach me to jitterbug. I never did learn! It was always a delight to see her at mass at St Joan of Arc❤️ Clarice and Bob Murnan

My Mom will be there with open arms welcoming Sandy into heaven. I will miss her smile, the twinkle in her eye and her laughter. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Lynnette

Sandy was a dear friend to my aunt Rose Zrostlik, whom we lost last fall. I have so many memories of Sandy coming up to the farm to celebrate birthdays and holidays with Rose when I was growing up in Lyons. I was able to take Rose to see Sandy last summer and we enjoyed a french silk pie together. They are certainly rejoicing together in heaven. ❤️
