KOZENY, Sara Jolene (Potach), Jul 27, 1972 – Apr 12, 2012. Our dearly beloved Sara died April 12, 2012. She was born in Des Moines, IA on July 27, 1972. She attended Ralston High School, where she participated in a variety of activities, and graduated in 1990. Sara attended Arizona State University, Creighton University and the University of Iowa, earning multiple undergraduate and graduate degrees. After graduation, she worked as a nurse in a variety of settings and volunteered for multiple organizations. Sara was a lifelong animal lover and had several pets over the years, including two cats, most recently. Sara was preceded in death by her father, Albert Potach; grandparents, Albert and Mary Potach and Milo and Carrie Janssen; aunt, Cathy Haney; uncles: Robert Potach and Marvin Myers; mother-in-law, Esther Kozeny. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Richard Kozeny of Cedar Rapids; mother, Judy Finch; stepfather, Kenneth Finch; brother, David Potach and fiancée Sunni Franz of Omaha; nephews, Michael and Jonah; nieces, Allison and Molly; aunts and uncles: Kae Myers, Wendell and Silvia Janssen, Phyllis and Terry Foster, Evelyn McKay, and Bob Haney; father-in-law, Richard and sister-in-law, Eva Kozeny of St. Louis. Sara’s family and friends miss her deeply. VISITATION begins Wednesday, 5pm, followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm at the West Center Chapel. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Thursday, 10am, St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. Memorials are suggested to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
