Sara V. Marchello

MARCHELLO-Sara Veronica (Camero), age 88 years, Omaha, loved by many, died of cancer on May 10, 2006. While ill, she refused to give in to pain and discomfort, which was typical of the way she took on everything. Survived by husband of 66 years, Ray; 2 daughters, Linda Marchello and son-in-law, Mike Carroll and Leslie Marchello Peterson and son-in-law, Mike Peterson; grandsons, Drew and Reed Peterson of Omaha, and grandson and wife, Dave Fowler and Joanne Lee, of Baltimore, MD; sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and dear friends. Sara was the youngest of 8 children and last of her generation. Active in volunteer work for many causes, Sara sewed doll clothes for disadvantaged children at Christmas, cooked for those in need, and enjoyed volunteering for the Italian American Heritage Society, Modern Italian Americans, Sons of Italy, St. Robert’s Church, and many more. She worked at the Martin Bomber Plant during WW II and retired from Western Electric where she was a member of the IBEW. Sara enjoyed her “second life” as a retiree with enthusiasm. She gardened, entertained, cooked, golfed, sewed and traveled in the conversion van with Ray, family and friends until recently. A life well spent.
