Sarah Danner Zahm
September 30, 1969 – November 11, 2023
Sarah loved literature and the arts. A voracious reader, she would read seventy to a hundred books per year—and kept a list of every book she had read since her teens. Spending time in museums was another love of hers—most recently roaming the many museums in Houston, Texas. Music of all kinds was also very meaningful to her—she loved to attend concerts with family and friends.
Sarah valued education. She was an English instructor for many years at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Sarah was a graduate of Gross High School and Creighton University, and earned her Master’s degree in English at Texas A&M University.
Family meant everything to Sarah. She is survived by her husband, Brian, and their five children: Gavin, Owen, Elliot, Cecilia, and Bridget, along with Owen’s partner, Joy Cotton. She is also survived by her mother, Kathleen Loomis; her father, David Danner; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sharon and Dick Zahm; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Andrea and Scott Shoemaker. And of course, her beloved cat, Hazel.
VISITATION: Thursday, November 16th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel, followed by a Time of Remembrance at 7pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Friday, November 17th at 10:30am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 6116 Dodge St. Family Interment, Forest Lawn. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Siena/Francis House.
