CLARKE, Scott Hansen, M.D. Dec 9, 1970 Nov 10, 2012 Springfield, Missouri; formerly of Omaha, Nebraska. Passed away in a tragic plane crash near Fresno, California. Born in Omaha, Nebraska to W. Patrick and Lana Hansen Clarke, he was raised in Omaha and graduated from Millard South High School in 1989. He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Hmong speaking population in Fresno, Cal. Scott married Veronica Connell in the Jordon River Temple on December 19, 1992. His father, Patrick Clarke, joined him in death. He is survived by his wife, Veronica and four children: Alex Patrick, Cooper Scott, Eric Hansen, and Rachel Janette; mother, Lana Clarke; siblings: Todd Patrick Clarke (Heather), Eric Clarke (Jill), Jennie Nielsen (Brian), and Brett Clarke (Annie); many nieces and nephews. Scott graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Chemistry, and received his Medical Doctorate from Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota. He was a renowned anesthesiologist for Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was a devoted husband and father, and a man of remarkable faith and ability, contributing significantly to his community and church. Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout as a young man, he was a leader in the Boy Scouts of America and held many additional leadership positions in his local congregation. A memorial will be held in his honor at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1357 Ingram Mill Road in Springfield, Missouri, on Thursday, November 15 at 6:30 p.m. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The family will also receive friends Friday, November 16, 6pm to 8pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 14680 California St. in Omaha. JOINT FUNERAL SERVICES for Scott and his father Patrick will be held at the same location on Saturday, November 17 at 10am. Private Interment, Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Omaha. To help continue Scotts charitable legacy, in lieu of flowers donations to The Scott Clarke Scholarship fund will be greatly appreciated.
