Scott T. Fegter
March 16, 1982 – November 2, 2022
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friday, November 11th, 4pm at the Truhlsen Campus Events Center at UNMC, 619 S. 42nd St., Omaha 68198.
Scott Thomas Fegter was born on March 16, 1982, in Alma, Nebraska as the first-born child of Don and Diane Fegter. Siblings Erik and Stefanie arrived not long after, and Scott took his role as a big brother very seriously. As a young boy, many summers were spent in Broken Bow and Callaway with his grandparents and extended family. Scott’s love of fishing was born during this time- it was one of his favorite activities with his grandparents. He was confirmed in the United Methodist Church of Republican City. Scott was a member of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts; he achieved Eagle Scout rank in high school. He was active in football, track, band, choir, and show choir and was well-liked by his classmates. He worked at North Shore Marina for years as a dock hand, where he was able to combine his love of fishing with his job.
He graduated from Alma High School in 2000 and attended Doane College, where he met Julie and formed many friendships with his kind heart, questionable dance moves, and happy demeanor. He graduated in 2004 with his bachelor’s degree in biology, and shortly afterward, his daughter Grace arrived. Scott attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s college of pharmacy and graduated in 2009 with his Doctorate of Pharmacy. Not long after, son Carter was born.
Scott was incredibly proud of his family and attended soccer games, band and orchestra concerts, baseball games, running meets, marching competitions, and art shows- all with the same smile, encouragement, and applause for the kids. Trips to Wisconsin and Colorado were among Scott’s favorites- not just for the scenery, but for the time with beloved friends.
He was wildly proud of the work he did as a pharmacist; the guidance and safety provided by the pharmacy team were a constant source of pride in his life. This appreciation and pride extended to his friends, classmates, and all of his coworkers and counterparts in the medical field, particularly during the pandemic.
Scott is preceded in death by grandparents, Delbert and Alma Leigh, Edward and Irene Fegter; uncle, Terry Fegter; and his frenemy, Rufus, the dachshund.
