Sharon Kay Burgman, age 77, passed away on September 16, 2017 after a lengthy illness.  Sharon was born on August 9, 1940, the third daughter of Wilbur “Bill” Miller and Frances (Jareske) Miller. She was born in a farmhouse just east of O’Neill in Holt County, NE. She was a member of St. Patrick Church and attended St. Mary School, graduating in 1958.  She always had deep feelings and close friendships with many of her classmates and was very passionate about her class reunions.  After graduating, Sharon moved to Omaha where she met her husband, Russell D. Burgman.  They were married in St Patrick’s on January 9, 1960.  To this union one child was born, Todd Allen Burgman.

During her working career, she worked at Mutual/United of Omaha Prudential Insurance Co., and Van Top, Inc.  At Van Top, where she was a secretary/receptionist, she had her one and only modeling job of putting together a vanity, and brochures were included in all vanities sold.

Her husband was transferred to Sioux Falls, SD, where they lived for three years.  Upon returning to Omaha, Sharon worked at Omaha State Bank where she was head bookkeeper.  She retired after ten years due to poor health. Her hobbies were photography, genealogy, and traveling. She loved playing all kinds of games.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, LaVonne Scott and Barbara Miller; father-in-law, Lloyd (Swede) Burgman; mother-in-law, Evalyn M. Davis; stepbrother-in-law, David Dryer; stepsister-in-law, Nancy Kobernusz.  She is survived by her husband, Russ; son, Todd; one uncle, Joe (Glenn) Jareske; one aunt, Ardyce Protovinsky of O’Neill, NE; three nieces: Theresa (Dan) Niesen of Phoenix, AZ, Renee (Dan) Weiss of Phoenix, AZ, and Lisa (Chuck) Kennedy of Portland, OR; one grandniece; four grandnephews; many cousins.

    Sharon was really a special and good one! Our O’Neill St. Mary’s Class of ’58 was pretty close knit bunch. Prayers and love from the Sullivan’s in Lincoln, NE.
