Especially proud experience:

Sharon’s interests (as stated by her):
- Life with my loving and caring husband, Dick.
- My immediate family: Dick; daughter, Cathy, her husband, Matt, her children, Micah and Devin; sister, Mary, her children, Katy and Bill; her nine grandchildren; brother, John; niece, Katy and her family; and nephew Bill and his family.
- My life-time friends: from kindergarten to now.
- My new friends.
- My lifetime association with The Episcopal Church, presently St. Augustine of Canterbury.
- My travels: “On land and on sea, I’ve been able to see many grand places and meet many wonderful people.”
Sharon loved people, spending hours in person and on the phone with friends and family. She could “work a room” as well as any politician. She actively maintained friendships with her kindergarten friends, high school “Circle Of Friends”, Delta Gamma sorority sisters, and everyone she got to know well throughout life. She also cherished those friends she met through her professional career and as a result of her many moves from Lincoln to Omaha, to Sioux City, to Tulsa, to Dallas, to Houston and to Sun City, Arizona. Many people she met and got to know while in memory care at Elk Ridge Village stated how much they enjoyed her companionship and just getting to know her. Her motto: “Once a friend, always a friend.”
A true passion of hers while in grade school and high school was dancing, including tap and ballet. Many stories of those events have been shared by her friends who danced along with her.
She was a true Husker – proud of being a graduate of the “U”, a Delta Gamma, and attending football games for decades (often in high heels).
She was a truly remarkable person, loving and caring to the very end.
A memorial service will be held later this summer. Notification of the date, time and location will be posted when available. Memorial gifts are suggested to St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, 285 South 208th Street, Elkhorn, NE 68022. (http://www.sainta.net/).
“And He will raise you up on eagle’s wings, Bear you on the breath of dawn, Make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of His hand.”
