Shawntay K. Allen and Ty’Lahni Shawntay Lee Kennedy

Shawntay K. Allen

September 5, 1993 – June 3, 2023

Shawntay Kiarra Allen (Kennedy) was born September 5, 1993 to Valerie Allen (Hines) and Raymond D. Baker. Shawntay grew up in Mankato, MN where she attended school at Mankato East Jr. & Sr. High School and Riverbend academy (Kato public charter school). At a young age Shawntay found one of her talents in doing hair. In her community she was known as the “Loc Queen” for her gifted ability to do Loc hairstyles. People would often say that their hair was “slayed by Tay” because her talent was unmatched. Tay was also gifted with the skills of decorating and event planning. Over the years Shawntay made many friends and impacted the lives of everyone she encountered with her loving, kind, and infectious spirit. Shawntay’s greatest joy in life was being a mother to her four babies: E’miyja Allen-Taylor, E’Laiyja Allen-Taylor, E’Mariya Darrough, and Raymonie Robinson, awaiting her baby girl Ty’Lahni Kennedy, and being a future wife to her fiancé, Tyrone Kennedy.

Shawntay instilled the best parts of herself in her children, she taught them to keep family first, to be resilient, to be kind, and how to live life to the fullest. To continue to create the best and most peaceful life for her family, Shawntay and her fiancé decided to relocate to Omaha, NE on her birthday 9/5/22. She would often express how it is the best decision she ever made. In Omaha Tay found peace and a closer relationship to God; she loved living closer to her big brother and baby sister as well. Many people will miss her eternally.

She is survived by her fiancé, Tyrone Kennedy; children, E’Miyja Janes Desreyell Allen-Taylor (Devin Taylor), E’Laiyja Sincerre Allen-Taylor (Devin Taylor), E’Mariya Leone Darrough (Jamontay Darrough), and Ray’Monie King Robinson (Monteray Robinson); parents: Valerie Hines (Cornelius Mack), Raymond D. Shawntay is survived by many more family and friends.

Although Shawntay is physically gone her spirit will live on through all of us. May we forever make her proud. Shawntay was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sherry L. Ayers. Sadly, Shawntay was followed to heaven by her precious baby girl, Ty’ Lahni Shawntay Lee Kennedy, where they will be together for eternity. All three of these ladies are watching over our family as our angels. We miss them beyond measure.
