Shayla Marie Peard

Shayla Marie Peard

July 28, 1993 – July 16, 2023

GOD saw that she was tired….so He called her Home.

Shayla Peard, 29, of Omaha died peacefully Sunday, July 16, after a courageous and valiant fight. Born in Grand Island to Mike and Dawn Peard. She graduated with honors from Grand Island Senior High School class of 2012. Shayla then attended nursing school, graduating with associate degree from Metro Comm college in Omaha.

Shayla had a very infectious personality and was larger than life. The absolute life of the party, lighting up the room with her loud voice and beautiful smile.  Her gorgeous eyes would get you every time.

Shay adored her Grandpa and Grandma, loved fishing at their lake and was always watching over and doting on her Grandpa Dale.  She was very hard working and most of all, very giving, even if it was her last dime. Her greatest joy was her faithful companion, Zeke.  You rarely saw one without the other.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her mother, Dawn Peard of Omaha; father, Mike Peard of Phillips; grandparents, Dale and Diane Semm of Grand Island; aunt, Dana Adams of Omaha; aunt, Cheryl and Al Wishart of Aurora; uncles, Tom Peard of Aurora; uncle, Bill and Linda Peard of Waukee, Iowa; aunt, Trish and John Valasek of Palmer; uncle, Randy Peard of Aurora; many cherished cousins and friends.  Also left missing Shayla is her best friend and beloved Husky, Zeke.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bob and Maryann Peard; great-grandparents: Elmer and Wanda Rauert and Gene and Edna Semm.

Family will receive friends Thursday July 20, 2023, from 5-7PM at Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler, West Center Chapel and then on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 5-8PM at All Faiths Funeral Home, 2929 South Locust St, Grand Island, NE

Private family Burial Saturday, July 22nd at Westlawn Cemetery Grand Island, NE

Shayla & I worked together @ Texas Roadhouse. We also had a college class together at metropolitan community college back in 2013. She was one of a kind, a force on her own & had a kind heart. I always felt that she had a personality similar to a husky—- so vocal & dramatic, but loyal to no end, a giver & a lover. We fought like sisters, and I’m seriously shocked that she’s gone. I am praying for her grandparents, her mom and dad. No one should have to bury their child or grandchild. Shayla will forever be seated into many of my core memories & I will always remember her. Love & huge hugs to all who knew her. She will be missed. May she rest in peace, sweet girl.
