Shelby Cherek, of Bennington, NE passed away, Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

She was loved dearly and will be missed by many family and friends. Shelby was born in Omaha, NE on June 5, 1987, to her mother Christine (Tillson) Williams and father Mark Cherek. She graduated from Central High School in 2005, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Shelby became a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2006 and attended University of Nebraska at Omaha and Nebraska Methodist College Nursing Program. She also studied massage therapy at the Omaha School of Massage Therapy. While a student, Shelby donated her time to charitable organizations whose missions provided for the care and wellbeing of others. On March 12, 2010, Shelby welcomed her son Hunter Chrisman. Hunter and Shelby spent most of their years together in the home of Shelby’s parents, Chris and Steve Williams, Bennington NE.

Shelby’s life has been shared and celebrated with her son and his father, Gage Chrisman, along with her parents, grandparents, Eric & Jackie Greenwood, Georgetown TX, and a large loving family of siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

Shelby’s maternal grandfather, John T. Tillson, passed away on Wednesday, September 28^th in Temple TX.

FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS beginning at 2pm on Sunday, October 9th, at the West Center Chapel.  The celebration of Shelby’s life will begin at 3pm. Our family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support by inviting all to stay for refreshments  following the service.
