I was shocked and saddened to see Shirley’s name in the obituaries. Shirley and I became good friends when we worked together at Mutual of Omaha. Even after we left Mutual, married and had children we still got together. Our children played together. Over time we lost track of each other but I have never forgotten the fun we had and the wonderful friendship we shared. I can still see those big brown eyes and that beautiful smile. There is comfort in knowing that she is in a better place. May God rest her dear soul and may He comfort you in your grief.
    Sincerely,
    Joyce Stranglen

George, Dave and family. I was so sorry to learn of Shirley’s death. i am saddened by it as i know you are. I have fond memories of her being the first baby in our family of three sisters. She was a cute as can be with brown hair, brown eyes and a big smile. She was really spoiled by all of us, who loved her so much. She became such a good, loving mother and we were always proud of her. Please know that I am thinking of all of you during this difficult time and sending my love and prayers.

Today was the day that I discovered that my friend and long time employee, Shirley, had suddenly passed away in April of this year. Shirley was a loving friend, and loyal employee for more than 14 years! She was there by my side in all capacities… and contributed to my success in my professional career, as well as my personal life. Shirley, single handedly, frequently handled all staffing emergencies over the years and never failed to welcome and accommodate my many patients and new employees. Shirley always exceeded my expectations and would never accept praise or accolades! She would just “get it done” and smile that unforgettable smile! I thank God that I met Shirley in my lifetime! And, she will be fondly remembered by this old friend!
