Shirley Ann Eastman

Shirley Ann Eastman

September 6, 1924 – November 21, 2020

Shirley A. Eastman was preceded in death by her loving husband, James E. Eastman; brothers, Joe Christiansen and Jerry Christiansen; and son-in-law, David Allen.

Shirley leaves behind her daughters: Geri Eastman, Mary Allen and Pam Stanesick; sons: Jim Eastman, Tom Eastman (Therese), John Eastman (Michelle) and Bill Eastman; grandchildren: Nikki, Kyle, Jeremy, Courtney, Neal, Hannah and Paige; great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Shirley was born on September 6, 1924 to Clarence and Mildred Christiansen and resided in Omaha, NE.  Shirley was a stay-at-home mom keeping busy raising her seven children.

Shirley loved to watch Notre Dame football and shared that love with her family.  Saturday football was a highlight for her especially if they won.  Mom also enjoyed having her (one) Martini while playing cards with her dear friends for many years (actually, on any occasion).  Another highlight was hosting Christmas Eve with her family.  That was one evening we had to make sure we could never miss.

Shirley enjoyed traveling with her family through the years and especially in retirement with her husband.  Shirley had a sense of humor and quick wit, which people loved about her up to her passing.  Shirley’s faith in God never wavered, it helped her in good times and in bad, which she passed on to her children.

Shirley was loved by all, she had a long, happy life and will be truly missed.

My condolences to your whole family. The last time I saw your mom was at my Dad’s wake almost 3 years ago. I was truly touched that she came. My Dad always stayed in touch with your mom after your Dad died. My Dad and I talked at great length in his last years about his great friendship with your Dad and Mom.

I am devastated to hear of Aunt Shirley’s passing. She was a good friend to my father Dale. May your memories comfort you until you meet again.
