Shirley Ann Falk
March 11, 1944- January 4, 2025
Shirley Ann Falk, age 80, completed her earthly journey and entered her eternal home on the afternoon of Saturday, January 4, 2025. She passed peacefully in Arizona, with her beloved sons, Jeff and Joey Falk, by her side. Shirley spent the last 16 months of her life living with her sons and their families, surrounded by love and care.
Born the youngest child to Harold and Goldie Magill in Holdrege, NE, Shirley grew up in Funk, NE, and graduated from Holdrege High School in 1962.
As a teenager, she met the love of her life, Arnold Falk, at a roller-skating rink. The two married on September 5, 1964, and shared 41 wonderful years together before Arnold’s passing. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to love and devotion.
Shirley was a longtime member of Lutheran Church of the Master, where she found great joy in attending Sunday services for as long as her health allowed. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every season with grace and strength.
A proud Nebraskan, Shirley loved watching Nebraska football and volleyball, as well as the Game Show Network. She had a passion for collecting cherished items, including Precious Moments figurines, ink pens, snow globes, Christmas decorations, and photos of her family. Her kind yet determined spirit shone brightly in her role as a devoted homemaker and stay-at-home mom, raising her two active boys with a laid-back attitude and kind heart.
Later in life, her greatest joy was her three grandchildren: Vida, Addisen, and Jordan. She loved hearing Vida’s stories, watching Addisen sing and dance in the hallway, and cheering on Jordan at his baseball games. Shirley always made time for her grandchildren, whether it was reading them stories, admiring their latest creations, or laughing at a new knock-knock joke.
Shirley is survived by her two sons, Jeff Falk and Joey Falk (April), all of Peoria, AZ; her three treasured grandchildren: Vida, Addisen, and Jordan; two beloved sisters, Rosie Leopold (Dean) and Elaine Wert (John). Shirley shared a special bond with Elaine, speaking with her daily and exchanging texts that brought joy to both of their days. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews who she adored; as well as her late husband’s brothers, Gene Falk and Ken Falk (Marilyn).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Goldie Magill (Sands); her dear niece, Rita Dannull; and several aunts, uncles, and in-laws who held a special place in her heart.
A CELEBRATION OF SHIRLEY’S LIFE will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 10:30AM at the West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Rd, Omaha, NE 68124.
VISITATION will begin at 9:30AM.
Memorials will be directed by the family.

Fond memories of Pete and Shirley. They loaned us $1000 for our first down payment, Shirley was our daughter’s first caregiver and they hosted many Christmases and family gatherings. When Rosie came to town, haircuts were given in the front hallway and family dinners ensued. Visits with grandparents, Harold and Goldie, most of the family got together. Good times.
Sending my condolences
Heartfelt prayers for you and your family during this time. May you find comfort and peace in the Lord’s loving care.
