I am saddened by Shirley’s passing. We had lost track of her location the last eight years. I will always remember when I first met her and her friends at Peony Park during summer vacation in the mid 50’s. There was a group of four girls from Central High. They were, of course, Shirley, Karen, Gail, and Terry. We all met at Peony Park quite often during those great summer days of vacation! I was happy to hear that Shirley, and Don got together may they find each other again in Heaven. May they both rest in Peace!

Shirley & I were childhood friends when we both lived on Seward Street in Omaha. My widowed mother & I lived in the upstairs apartment in Joe Doyle’s house three doors away from the Mauk home on the corner. Shirley & her family were always good to me. I loved going to their house. Was pleased to see that all of her seven siblings are listed as survivors. Sending my sincere condolences & prayers to you all.
