Sikelela Theodore Ndebele
October 04, 1966 – August 27, 2021
Sikelela Theodore Ndebele was born in Gweru, Zimbabwe to Earning Makaka Ndebele, a carpentry teacher, and Katy Gift Ndebele (nee Zembe), a social worker. He grew up in Bulawayo and was known for his academics and sportsmanship. Sikelela excelled in tennis, soccer, and swimming, winning many awards. He graduated from the University of Zimbabwe Faculty of Commerce with a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Management in 1991. Sikelela later earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in 1997. After earning his bachelor’s degree, he worked for DHL and later became a Regional Marketing Director for British American Tobacco (BAT).
Sikelela emigrated to the United States in April 2000. In the United States, he worked in a variety of industries including healthcare and finance.
Sikelela married Jennifer Sharp and out of this union was born his only daughter, Naledi S. Ndebele.
He suffered numerous chronic illnesses until his death on August 27, 2021, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Sikelela was preceded in death by both parents; one brother; one sister. He is survived by daughter, Naledi; a brother; three sisters; and a host of nieces and nephews.

RIP my life long friend. 15 years together at 3 different schools (more than any other person) and last long conversation on 11 August when you asked me “ Are you alive?”. Little did I know our one hour chat was the the last. Phumula ngokuthula,size sihlangane futhi.

Our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the Ndebele family. Sike (“syke” to us his very bosom friends ). We shared great moments from 1989 at Fletvher and years to come. We all recently connected as longtime friends with ciallegues and enjoyed hours if catching up and genuine life reflections. You went away so suddenly and you left us wondering what just happened. Condolences to the Ndebele family. Just heard about Sikhe. Sikhe KRA was a dear friend, buddy and homeboy from the early Fletcher High School and Bulawayo days.
