Stefan G. “Pete” Jenkins
July 28, 1936 – April 5, 2024
Stefan G. “Pete” Jenkins, 87, passed away on April 5th, surrounded by his loving family, after a long hard-fought battle with cancer.
Pete was the son of Mary W. Jenkins, born July 28, 1936, in Fort Riley, KS. He was raised in Omaha and received his bachelor’s from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. His career with New York Life was well suited for his caring personality, and afforded him the ability to protect his family, friends, and those he came in contact with from the unexpected tragedies in life.
For all of you that knew Pete, you probably associated him with a car (or two) that he fixed up, tinkered with, and restored with pride. His love of cars started at an early age and continued throughout his life. He truly found his niche.
He was preceded into heaven by his mother, Mary; and his brother, Richard Jenkins. He is survived by his wife of 55 years (and the absolute love of his life), Patricia Jenkins; and their children, Michelle Owens and Steve Jenkins; two grandchildren, Jacob Owens and Morgan Owens; as well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pete was a deeply beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. The timing of his passing was somewhat unexpected, but in the end, God allowed him to pass peacefully, just like he prayed it would be.
While we lost our most beloved husband, and father, others have lost a dear friend. He has been a rock to many, and an example of how a strong, kind, honest man should treat the people around him. Whether you met him through a friend, family member, at work or church; Pete had a lasting impact on those he came in contact with and was a lifelong friend.
We invite you to share pictures or memories. It was his wish that we laugh, reminisce, and smile together during this time.
Memorials may be sent to Peace Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, April 27th, 11 a.m., at Peace Presbyterian Church, 333 S. 204th St., Elkhorn.

Pete was a dear person, who would help anyone who need it. He was intelligent and fun loving. We will miss him, but are glad he got to join his God without a great deal of discomfort. He was as good a person and friend as there is.
