I have known Steve since childhood when he brought his younger siblings to my Mother’s day care on Myrtle Ave. I last saw he and his Mother, by chance, at an Ikebana show when I was visiting friends in the area. He must have been the son every Mum would want. Sincere sympathies to all family members. Marsha and Dennis Curran.
Steve was a credit to his community and family. His efforts to promote international relations brought many people of diverse backgrounds together. As my student at the old University of Omaha, Steve excelled in personal relations as well in as academics. He has left an indelible and artistic influence on our city.
Steve was a kind hearted man that will be missed dearly. My condolences to those who cared for Steve family and friends.

My sincere condolences to the Takechi family. I have to this day, a watercolor rose that Steve, drew with a lovely inscription some 30+ Years ago. Still framed and on my wall. May GOD give HIS strength upon you as you grieve. Blessings

The Takechi family has been a great contributor to the friendship between Shizuoka and Omaha.
Sincerely,
Staff of Shizuoka City Hall, Japan
I met the Takechi family as a teenager many years ago when they were in the Farnam Building. I quickly became friends with Steve and bought my first Seiko watch from him. Over the years I would stop by on a regular basis. Steve shared with me Japanese language, art, and love of Japan. To this day I often think of him and his kindness. He was very kind and generous. He will be missed.
