Stephanie Joy Becerra, 51, of Bennington, Nebraska, passed from this life on May 20, 2022.  Stephanie was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Stephanie was born on February 26, 1971 to Raymond and Rosemarie Schneider in Des Moines, Iowa.  She grew up in Urbandale, Iowa, along with her three siblings.  After graduating from Dowling Catholic High School in 1989, she went on to study Child and Family Studies at Northwest Missouri State University where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority.

After graduating with a degree in Child and Family Studies, she worked as a daycare director.  Stephanie also ran her own daycare program in her home and most recently managed the operations for her husband’s technology company.

In 1998, Stephanie married the love of her life, Thomas Becerra in Des Moines, Iowa.  Stephanie and Thomas were blessed with two children, Christian and Elizabeth Becerra.

Stephanie found joy in working with children and becoming a second mother to her daycare children as well as her children’s friends. Tom, Christian and Elizabeth were Stephanie’s world.  Stephanie was known for her “behind the scenes” personality.  She never wanted to draw attention to herself.  She was known for taking care of everyone around her before herself.  She was loved by so many due to her warm-hearted and loving attitude.   Stephanie was adored by her maternal grandfather and nicknamed, “Brown Eyes” due to her big brown beautiful eyes.  Stephanie looked forward to the annual Schneider family Christmas trip to Sanibel Island, Florida to spend time with her family.  Stephanie also looked forward to spending time at the pool with her friends.  Stephanie was a devoted Nebraska Husker football fan.

Stephanie was preceded in death by grandparents, Victor and Myrtle Schneider, and Charles and Gilda Severino; and father, Raymond Schneider.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Thomas and their children, Christian and Elizabeth; mother and stepfather, Rosemarie Schneider-Hunter and Fred Hunter; brother, Chuck (Beth) Schneider, sisters, Andrea (Todd) Eisner and Monica (Steve) Voss; brothers-in-law: Edward (Tonya) Becerra, Steve Becerra, Ronald Becerra, Daniel Becerra, and Mark Becerra; sister-in-law, Julie (Brian) Griesenbrock; nieces: Meagan Hanson, Emily Schneider, Josie Voss, Jessica Bechtold, and Martina Becerra; nephews: Jack Voss, Mark Becerra, and Jake Becerra; many special aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Stephanie was such a good friend! She was the first to show concern if you were ever going through something! She had such a fun spirit! We enjoyed many outings together and of course our summers at the pool. I cant even imagine this upcoming season without her. She loved her husband Tom and her kids Christian and Lizzie. My heart goes out to them and her entire family. My only solace is to know I have a guardian angel up there with my mom looking out for us. Enjoy the party up there Steph, until we meet again!!

The best news is that no matter what religion you are you can be ASSURED of going to heaven if you’ll just stop and pray the following to God and mean it.

-Christ died for all of my sins past, present and future and paid for them with His blood (John 3:16)
-good works won’t get me there (Ephesians 2:8-9) (Galatians 2:16)
-now that I’m saved I can never lose my salvation (John 10:28-29)
