Ted J. Stessman Aug 26, 1930 May 17, 2016 Ted Stessman, born in Harlan, Iowa, to Ted and Clara Stessman on August 26, 1930, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2016, after a long struggle with dementia. A beloved son, brother, husband and father, Ted was especially proud to be Grandpa Ted to his nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Ted is survived by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis (DiBaise) Stessman and his four children: Karen Weber (Larry), Ted Stessman (Julie), Laurie Barnes (Bob), and Susie Blue (Jim). Teds love of family and his wide circle of lifelong friends remained a constant in his life. A diehard Creighton Blue Jay basketball fan, he also loved rooting for the Notre Dame and Nebraska football teams as well as playing golf. The family will receive friends Friday, May 20th, from 5pm to 7pm at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, with VIGIL SERVICE to follow at 7pm at the church. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Saturday, May 21st at 10am, St. Joan of Arc Church. Private Interment, Calvary Cemetery with military rites. Memorials are suggested to St. Bernard School, St. Joan of Arc School, and Creighton Prep High School. The Stessman family wishes to thank Prairie Meadows Alzheimers Special Care Center and the Visiting Nurses Association for their compassionate care of Ted.
