He was preceded in death by parents, Harold and June Ruhde; father and mother-in-law, Clayton and Rita Irlbeck; sisters-in-law, Elaine Ruhde and Marilyn Ringleb; brother-in-law, Ken Irlbeck. He is survived by wife, Karen; son, Ryan; brother, Larry; brothers-in-law, Brad Irlbeck (Carrie), Morrie Ringleb (Vancee); sister-in-law, Lori Irlbeck (Denny Sondgeroth); many great-nieces and great-nephews; neighbors and friends.

Steven M. Ruhde was born in Manning, Iowa, on December 31, 1946. He attended Manning Grade School and later attended Manning High School, graduating in 1966. During this time he worked at the Manning Creamery. Two years after completing high school Steven joined the Army. On July 1, 1972, Steven married Karen Irlbeck and later the couple moved to Omaha, NE. Together they had one son, named Ryan.

Steven worked at Safeway, Mid-America Dairymen, and retired from the Lozier Corporation. He was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Creighton Bluejays, he loved model trucks, and will be remembered for the meticulous nature in which he cared for his lawn.

VISITATION: Saturday, August 26, 2023 4-6 p.m., at the West Center Chapel, 7805 W Center Rd. Private Family Burial: Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the American Cancer Society.

    Karen and extended family. I’m so sorry for your loss. I do have to say the comment on Steven taking care of his lawn made me smile. As a neighbor of 20+ years, He was diligent! I frequently felt guilty that my leaves blew into his lawn in the fall. I’m sure there were times when he looked across the street and shook his head….

    Karen I am someone you don’t know but Steve and I were cousins. I’m so sorry for your loss. I live in Ohio and cannot attend the service but am thinking of you and your family.

    Karen & Ryan, We are very sorry for your loss. I worked with Steve for 12 1/2 years with Safeway. I have many fond memories of those times. Jim & Jean Ruffner
