Steven Richard Balters, born February 4, 1989, in Omaha, Nebraska, to James Balters and Christine Webster, passed away August 31, 2023, at home in Golden/Lakewood, CO.

Steven attended Brownell Talbot School from preschool through senior year, graduating in May of 2007. He grew up attending and was confirmed at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Omaha. Steven attended Seattle University, Seattle, WA, and the University of Nebraska Lincoln, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. He moved to the Denver, Colorado area in 2018.

Steven was a gifted writer and speaker beginning in the early years of grade school and for the rest of his life. He loved hiking and camping in the Golden area and the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

He is survived by his mother, Dr. Christine Webster (Randy Bruhn) of Omaha; beloved uncles and aunts, Mike and Barbara Binfield, of Doniphan, NE, Dr. Gary Oliver of Siloam Springs, AR, Michael and Monica Balters of Lincoln, NE, Jerry and Mary Bucy of Beatrice, NE, Dr. Sharon Balters of Omaha; and many, many loving cousins.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, Dr. James Balters; grandparents, Richard and Marilyn Webster, and Steve and Dolores Balters; uncles, Dr. Henry Balters, and Marine Lance Corporal Stephen Balters (a Vietnam War Hero); aunt, Carrie Oliver; cousins, Matthew Balters, Christian Balters, Joshua Balters, and Matthew Oliver.

VISITATION: Wednesday, September 13, 2023, 10 a.m., at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 15050 W. Maple Rd. Omaha, NE., followed by a FUNERAL SERVICE: at 11 a.m. Memorials are suggested to Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church or Brownell Talbot School.
