Sunny S. Everett

Sunny S. Everett

February 22, 1942 – August 6, 2024

Sunny S. Everett, age 82, passed away on Aug 6, 2024 in Papillion, NE. She passed peacefully with her husband, Grant, of 60 years, by her side. Born on February 22, 1942, Sunny loved the Lord and her family. She is survived by her husband, Grant; two daughters, Laura (husband, Terry) and Amy (husband, Pete); eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, (who she was known as Mamaw). She is also survived by her brother, Charles Abernathy; sister-in-law, Jeanne; and many nieces and nephews. Sunny, a pillar in the church and an award-winning quilter, loved to give her many quilts to family and friends. She started a church quilting group where they made quilts for missionary families.  Later in life, three of her quilts were published in a national quilting book. She served in the Omaha Pipes and Drums, where she played the bagpipes in honor of her Scottish heritage. She was the rock that held the family together during Grant’s many military missions. After graduating from Baylor University, she taught preschool for eight years and then went into Real Estate sales. We will all miss her kindness, sense of humor, wisdom, and love.

Terri and I send our love and prayers to Grant and your entire family. Sunny was always so kind and encouraging to our family. She had such a joy about her and always seemed to have a beautiful smile on her face that truly lit up the room. We are grateful to the Lord for our time in Omaha to know her. Until we meet again.
