Susan Faye Miller

Susan Faye Miller passed away April 26, 2023, at the age of 69 after a courageous battle with stage 4 cancer. She went to her heavenly home surrounded by family and friends.

Sue was born in Oakland, NE to Elmer and Helen Freed with big sister, Kay welcoming her home. Sue graduated from Oakland-Craig High School and attended college at Wayne State. She had three major careers before retirement: Pillsbury Grain in the Merchandising Office for 11 years, Cudahy Pepperoni Manufacturing as a Computer Operator and Purchasing Manager for 13 years, and Boystown as a Travel Coordinator for 24 years. Sue developed many close friendships through these careers that she treasured.

Sue married the love of her life, Timothy C. Miller, on August 14, 1987, and gained three bonus sons: Josh, Adam, and Reed. They made their home in Omaha, NE and Logan, IA. Tim and Sue enjoyed traveling, music, and spending time with their family and friends. Sue liked to plan gatherings and trips with loved ones whether camping, fishing, a local event, the zoo, or a museum. She was in many friend circles and rarely turned down an opportunity to see them. Several of these friends were like family and stayed close to her side until the end. Sue was adored by all! (She jokingly said to put this phrase in there, but it really is true!)

Sue is survived by children and grandchildren: Josh (Hannah) of York, Barrett and Clare; Adam (Denise) of Broomfield, CO, Alexis, Ben and Chris; and Reed (Tia) of Johnson, Layla, Chase, and Quinn; sister-in-law, Gay (Marvin) Pesek of Eagle; brother-in-law, Kevin Miller of Lincoln. Sue will be missed by her nieces, Staci (Keith) Lawson of Lincoln and Kresta Schaefer of Phoenix, AZ; nephew, Scott Schaefer of Omaha; grandnieces: Freedom Schaefer, Harper and Tess Lawson, Alyssa Schaefer.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Kay Schaefer; and many furry friends.

Sue’s wishes were to be cremated. Family Visitation: Wednesday May 3, 2023, from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral Service: Thursday May 4, 2023, at 11:00am all at West Center Chapel. Private Interment: Omaha National Cemetery.

Condolences may be sent to the family or the funeral home. Memorials can be given to Boystown or to her family for later designation.

The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Sue’s friends Chris Ayotte and Kathy Boyles and Hillcrest Hospice for their care of Sue and us over these recent months. You were our eyes, ears, and hand-holders when distance and everyday life kept us apart. Thank you.
