Susan was a quiet, gentle soul.  She loved dogs and owned several over the years. Susan was born with congenital cataracts and was legally blind.  Even so she graduated from high school, and attended a special school for the blind where she learned various secretarial skills.  She lived independently in an apartment with her best friend, her dog.  Susan worked for the Army Corp of Engineers for over 25 years and retired from the Corp.  She loved to read, and to watch old TV shows and Tom Cruise movies.   She will be greatly missed.

Catherine, I’m sorry for your loss. Susan was a sweet gentle girl. I was in her class at Holy Cross and Mercy High. She was an extraordinary young girl and woman. Despite her disability she always pushed on. Rest in peace Susan, you fought the good fight and now enjoy the presence of the Lord.

I was so sad to hear about Susan’s death. She really touched my heart as a child. We went to Holy Cross and Mercy together. I’m so glad to hear that she had a full happy life with her dogs, books and movies. I am very sorry for your loss.

I remember Susan coming to work every day, at the USACE Omaha District. Even thro I didn’t work in the same department as she did, I remember she was just a very nice person.
