Suzie passed away after an 8-year battle with cancer. She attended Assumption Catholic School and went to Notre Dame Academy. Suzie was a bookkeeper at Rudy Steffens while she stayed home with Todd and Lindsey. As the children grew, she became a Branch Office Administrator with a twenty-year career at Edward Jones Investments and worked up to become a limited partner.
Suzie was an amazing cook and always ensured the family ate dinner together. She was known for her pies, houska breads and kolaches. Suzie was a great mom who was regularly Room Mom, chaperoned field trips, lead the Girl Scout Troop, and helped to make elaborate school projects. She was fun and spontaneous. Each summer was spent on a long road trip across the US, cruises, small little trips to Adventureland or Worlds of Fun, or the likes. She loved boating, picnics at the park, playing cards and just spending time with family and friends. Suzie was an excellent host whether just dinner with close friends, a full out party or sharing her home with anyone that needed a place to stay. She was a constant and would drop everything if you needed something. Above all she loved her grandchildren and proudly wore her grandma T-shirts and sweatshirts. She made everything an adventure and was always “making a memory”.

I had a wonderful and great time taking care of this amazing lady, she would always give me hugs every morning with a kiss on the cheek and call me her honey bun.. I will never forget the stories she told me. She will be greatly missed my Susie boosie
I:m so sorry, I:m so sorry, She was a gem! I loved her!
My heart goes out to the family and friends left behind. I did not know Suzie all that well, but did know that she was a very loving and caring person. I knew this because of her interest in my own challenges. Suzie put everyone first even though she was fighting a horrific battle herself. I’m sorry I can’t be there to celebrate her everlasting life with the Lord, but my thoughts will. RIP sweet Suzie!
I will always remember Suzie as being a great friend. Her hospitality was overwhelming whenever I came to visit. She wore her heart on her sleeve and was as genuine as they come. We shared a Czech heritage and enjoyed our views on “”kolache recipes”. Mostly, I loved her smile, laughter and her spirit. She was so fun to be around. Her family was her world.. Heaven has gained an angel.
Suzie was a special friend. She loved spending time with family and friends. Suzie, we will miss your infectious smile and laugh. Thanks for all the memories. Joan Dreager
I am so sorry to hear of Susie’s passing. As kids we had so much fun. Her mom Aunt Helen made the best kolache and loved the visits we had!! Rest In Peace Suze
My heartfelt sympathy to Susie’s family. She was very much loved by all those from Assumption Church and ex-school.
Thank you God for Suzies’ friendship. Together with Larry, raising Todd and Lindsey and welcoming Melissa and David plus a handful of grandkids made their family extra special. Spending time with them over the past 30 years were some of the best times of my life and some of the best memories I have. May God Bless Suzie, Larry, Todd, Melissa, Lindsey, David and all the grandkids.
Suzie was given the ultimate reward for being a Magnificent Mom, a Grand Grandma, a Wonderful Wife and a Fantastic Friend. She’s now in heaven visiting with friends and family she hasn’t seen in awhile.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
I went to Notre Dame Academy with Suzie. Prayers to family and friends. Rest in peace my friend.
