Tara L. (Moore) Virgilito, lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and daughter, passed away peacefully on September 8th, in Papillion, NE. She was born on December 29, 1970, to Terry L. Moore and Mary Moore.

Tara graduated from Central High School. She dedicated 19 years of her life to Metropolitan Utilities District, where she diligently served, embracing her duties with grace and integrity. More than a vocation, Tara’s work became a platform through which she selflessly contributed and impacted the lives of those she worked alongside.

Tara’s vibrant personality was characterized by her loving nature, nurturing spirit, and caring demeanor. She had a positive outlook on life and was always ready for new adventures. She was outgoing and had a generous heart that touched the lives of countless friends and family members.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Jim Virgilito who found solace and strength in their shared journey. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Jamie Gruhn (Danny), Ashley Scariano (Rob), Jimmy Virgilito (Claudette), Mary Virgilito, and Shayla Virgilito; step-sisters, Jill and Nicole Abrahamson; nephew, Jesse Moore (Rachel); and her cherished grandchildren: Lyrik, Lexi, Joey, Pax, and Jacob, who will forever carry the light she bestowed upon them.

Tara’s life was colored by both cherished relationships and heartfelt loss. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lita L. Virgilito; sister, Tawni L. Moore; brother, Terry Lancer Moore; and step-mother, Tanya Moore.

Tara’s family invites all who knew and loved her to pay their respects.

VISITATION: Sunday, September 17, 2023,2- 4pm at the West Center Chapel, followed by a VIGIL SERVICE: at 4 pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Monday, September 18, 2023, 10 am, at Christ the King Catholic Church, located at 654 S. 86th St. Tara will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the Nebraska Cancer Society in Tara’s honor. Tara possessed a compassionate spirit that extended towards those fighting for healing and hope.

Tara’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate Tara’s spirit, as it soars in eternal communion with the Divine. May she rest in eternal peace.

    I worked with Tara in Customer Service when I started at MUD. She was so patient with me and with all of my questions. She was one of the sweetest people to work with. You were definitely blessed to have someone so amazing in your life. God Bless you all.

    My sincere condolences to Terry and Mary Moore as well as the entire family. I have known Tara for 50 plus years and can honestly say she was the most gentle soul I have ever met. May God be with Tara and the entire family at this very difficult time. Not only did I know Tara as a youngster I also had the pleasure of working with her for 19-years at M.U.D. With sympathy and love in celebration of a beautiful life rest in peace Tara with no more pain.

    I have know Tara since 1997. She was always smiling and full of love! She embraced life & was the light for so many. I watched her with her family & she loved unconditionally ALWAYS! She will always be in my heart & I will pray for peace and comfort for all those who loved her…I cherish knowing she has been reunited with her precious daughter, Lita!
